BOMBER JACKET TUTORIAL
I finally did it! So many of you have requested a tutorial on making a bomber jacket and here it is. And THANK YOU for the all the love you've shown for jackets. It's been fun. Last week I bought a brand new camera - learned how to make videos with it. Then I taught myself how to edit and create a movie with an online film editor...whew! I'm in the wrong business. I would have paid someone handsomely to do this for me!
Hopefully this is the first of many...thanks to the @SimplicityCreativeGroup, @McCallPatternCompany and @HusqvarnaViking.....Enjoy!
Bomber jackets must be my thing - they are fun and easy to make, very cool and sexy to wear and I want to share it. The tutorial is an hour long, primarily it's for beginners to advanced beginners who've never made an outer garment. I'm using Simplicity Pattern 8418, an unlined version so you can learn the fundamental construction of the jacket. Such an easy garment to construct, allowing for design hacks later like funky sleeves, neck bands and cool linings.
This jacket was made from a lavender twill fabric and knit bands for the sleeves and lower jacket. I used the same fabric for the collar band.
This jacket is available at Topstitch Studio in Ponce City Market Atlanta.
